What does LSX mean on a car?
Posted by Nally C. on February 22, 2022. As an indication that LSX has been stripped, the 'X' in LSX stands for LS Extreme. From my recall, these LSX engines are powered by aftermarket block modifications which guarantee the vehicle will provide 2500 HP. Cars produced don't utilize these blocks.
Is a 427 a LSX?

IMO-The 5.3 is definately a faster motor but the 5.7 seems to handle weight better. My 5.3 averages about 17mpg while and I got about 15mpg with my 5.7. It is hard to get a good comparison though. The 5.7 was a Z71 regular cab, short bed with an auto and 3.73s.
