Where are yak tracks made?
The company ships raw materials to China. The finished products are shipped back to the United States by the container loads. Slightly less than a fourth of the company's revenues come from international sales. Yaktrax are sold in Canada, Norway, Sweden, Germany and Japan, Hunt said.
Who invented Yaktrax?
Invented by climber/painter/teacher/entrepreneur and mountaineering historian Tom Noy, then a middle-school art teacher living in Seabeck, near Bremerton, Yaktrax are now part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Are Yaktrax good on black ice?

Can you wear Yaktrax on pavement?
They're OK on bare concrete patches, OK on ice, but BEST on packed snow. I don't love them enough to put them on all the time - If I'm not running hard in the snow, I don't wear them. Happy running!
Are Yaktrax good for mud?
Mud can be just as slippery as ice, so go with traction (YakTrax or microspikes will suffice).
Can you run in Yaktrax walk?

Can I take Yaktrax Warmers on an airplane? Yes, Yaktrax Warmers are TSA approved and can be taken in your carry-on or used to stay warm during your flight. They are completely safe for air travel.
How do you take care of Yaktrax?
We recommend just rinsing them in clean water and patting dry with a towel at least after every couple of uses. One reason to clean and dry often is that in many areas they salt the roads and sidewalks which if not cleaned off can be corrosive towards the Yaktrax over time.
Does Yaktrax work in the snow?
Despite their diminutive design, the Yaktrax Pro provide amazing traction on snow and packed snow and some additional traction on ice. They are also fine on cobblestone and pavement, even if they have a slightly cushy feel to them.
Are Yaktrax good on snow?
Yaktrax makes slip-on traction devices for your running and walking shoes. These are a great option for winter days when you might face snow or ice, and are easy to pack with you in case you will need them. They slip on over your regular shoes or boots to provide extra traction on wintry surfaces.

When should I wear Yaktrax?
Prior to a deep woods trek, snowshoers can use Yaktrax around the lodge or in milder conditions. Some snowshoers strap on Yaktrax while on packed trails, then switch to snowshoes when they get to deeper snow. Given the lightweight design, Yaktrax easily fit into a backpack for use as needed.
Whats the difference between Yaktrax Walker and pro?
Yaktrax Pro
Where the Pro differs from the Walker is in a velcro strap across the top of the foot, which secures the upper over the shoe so that it won't slide off and the coils will stay in place. This is a particularly useful feature in deep snow, where the Walker could get pulled off.
How do you travel with track spikes?
Sports equipment that can be used as a bludgeon (such as bats and clubs) is prohibited in the cabin of the plane and must be transported in your checked baggage. For more prohibited items, please go to the 'What Can I Bring?' page.
Can you put Microspikes in carry-on?
There's no logical why microspikes, which are "traction devices," not mini crampons, should be prohibited from carry-on--the length of the spike makes them less harmful than a pair of 3.9" scissors, which are permitted.
Can I bring a back scratcher on a plane?
1: A back scratcher is generally allowed in carry-on bags. Please note that our officers have the final say on items allowed through the checkpoint. They may not allow an item past the security checkpoint due to an alarm or other security concerns.
Do they make Yaktrax for kids?
Yaktrax don't officially come in Kid's Sizes. However, it's simple to convert Women's Shoe Sizes to Grade School Kid's Shoes Sizes by subtracting 1½.
